Surprisingly popular YouTube video

On the 30th anniversary of the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances (the agreement that guaranteed Ukraine’s security in exchange for its renunciation of nuclear weapons), I looked through our Drasnin Archive footage to see if I could find contemporary coverage of how the agreement was covered at the time. I found a few interesting news stories, but was really interested in a debate between Henry Kissinger and Jack Matlock regarding the future of Eastern Europe, NATO, and Russia. Somewhat surprisingly, this has turned out to be our most popular video so far, with the commenters noting both the professionalism/decorum displayed in the debate, but also the eerie foreshadowing of conflicts to come in that area of the world.
